Posted Sep 20, 2013 // 0 comments (+)Hi everybody! I've been working since 9 September to 18 September. Did y'all miss me? Hehehe, shall start off this entry with my selfie. :3
Frankly speaking, this is my very first time working. Oh yes, my workplace is located at Thomson Plaza and I am the cashier. Teeheee. Although I am paid to be a cashier, I am secretly a promoter for Casahana, Four Seasons Durian, and Leong Yin. HAHAHA. Why, you may ask... That's because their booths are near my counter, so I will try to help them when I've got nothing to do. HAHAHA, OH YES. I am the youngest among all of the staffs. I was shocked, like really. I thought all of them were 17 too... HAHAHA, but apparently, they're 18 and above. BOOHOOO.
Left: First day of work.
Right: Last day of work.
My lovely counter. ♡ Niahaha. >:D
I am extremely thankful to be working with a bunch of amazing people. For instance, there's this girl, Melissa, she knew that there wasn't enough chairs for the staffs and I had to stand most of the time. So, she brought a little chair to our workplace specially for me. I was so damn touched at that moment, I am not even joking. The people who I've been working with for the past 10 days include Eurich, Eunice, Erica, Erina, Melissa, Jia Ying, Sheryl, Aaron, Rachel, Michelle, Gerald, James, Ronald, auntie Mabel, auntie Gina, and 3 other aunties!
I am counted lucky to have a rather lenient supervisor, Mary. She doesn't really bother about our attire and punctuality, so... That is obviously counted as an advantage of having a lenient supervisor. Well, there are definitely pros and cons for every single thing. So, having a lenient supervisor isn't actually a good thing in a way... The disadvantages of having a lenient supervisor is that he/she may not be able to lend you a helping hand when required. What I meant was that the supervisor will be oblivious to the happenings, so he/she can't be of any help when encountered any obstacles. If you've been following me up on Twitter ever since my first day of work, you'll chance upon several tweets in which I ranted about Mary. Although it is somewhat a good thing that she is blur, it pisses me off A L O T whenever she fails to clear my doubts. Oh, she did clear my doubts by saying, "I don't know", "What to do?", "Happy selling!", "Take it easy, it's still early.", and many more.... How helpful, hahaha. I'll never forget how she mixes people's names up too. LOL. She calls Aaron as 'Amos', Eurich as 'Eury', 'Eurica', 'Eurick' and 'Rick', and auntie Gina as 'Maria'. HAHAHAHA.
Top: Yay, our group photo, missing out the others who didn't work on the last day though.
Bottom: Without Erica and Mary.
I could still vividly remember the happenings of the first day of work. All of the staffs were asked to assemble at Thomson Plaza's atrium by 9.45AM, and I arrived 15 mins later. I was shocked to see everyone so punctual. Well, not everyone to be exact, hehe. Eurich, Eunice and I were late for work on the first day. Melissa was the first person I spoke to, followed by Eunice. All that I did on the very first day was to be taught on the functions of the cash register machine, and to ask around regarding the discounts available and prices of all of the products, in order to be crystal clear of the details of the products.
The very first customer I served was very patient. He didn't flare up or what not even I've forgotten to give him a discount. Instead, he calmed me down and asked me to recalculate it again. I won't deny the fact that I panicked and almost fainted because I was so nervous. HAHAHA. Subsequently, I got used to the functions and things got better. Hehehe. I have came across many different types of customers, from those really patient/understanding/polite ones to those idiotic ones. I will never forget how that idiotic customer insulted Erica and I. Psssh, shouldn't even have approached him in the very first place. Oh well, at least the both of us displayed some professionalism and continued entertaining him. *Wiggles eyebrow*
To be honest, the sales of mooncake at Thomson Plaza is negligible even during the weekends. That is inevitable though, because of its location. Hahaha. In my opinion, we've got plenty of leisure time as compared to the staffs of the other outlets. NYAHAHA. >:) Here are some of the shots captured during our free time!
P/S: I am totally regretting for not camwhoring with them except for Eurich and my food/snacks. Hahahahaha.
My favourite mooncakes from Casahana. ♡_♡

To sum up, I had a time of my life working with these amazing people and I am absolutely grateful of those who helped me along the way when I encountered difficulties in a way or another. Once again, I'd like to thank them for all of the fond memories, laughter and all. The memories created will be deeply anchored in my mind, each and every one of them will be missed and I really do hope that I will have a chance to bump into them again. X
